Lithopone is a white powder, which is a mixture of zinc sulfide and barium sulfate. It is non-toxic. Its color is also called lithopone pink or zinc-barium white.

Lithopone is insoluble in water and can react with acidic substances to decompose and release hydrogen sulfide, but it will not react chemically with alkaline substances and hydrogen sulfide.
