The English name of Citronellal is Citronellal, also known as rose aldehyde, which belongs to monoterpene aldehyde. It is mainly derived from lemon eucalyptus, lemon seed, Java citronella, Ceylon citronella and other plants, in the high grade eucalyptus, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, lemon, lime, balsamic, wild orange oil also contains citronellal. Citronellal has sedative, hypnotic and anti-nociceptive properties which attenuates mechanical nociceptive sensations and is mediated in part by the no-CGMP-ATP-sensitive K + channel
