Cupric chloride, inorganic compound, chemical formula CuCl2. Copper.chloride is a covalent compound in planar chain form. It is easily hygroscopic from air and becomes CuCl2·2H2O, a blue-green racky crystal dihydrate.  Copper .chloride is a yellow brown powder, soluble in water.
