Nickel hydroxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ni(OH)2, which is mainly used for preparing nickel salts, alkaline batteries and nickel plating.

Nickel hydroxide is a green powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in acid and ammonium hydroxide.

In addition, nickel hydroxide has strong alkalinity and can be dissolved in NaOH, KOH and other strong bases to form corresponding nickelates.
