1. Natural camphor powder, also known as dextrocamphor, is a white powdery crystal with pungent and cool camphor fragrance, which is volatile at room temperature. Soluble in many organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether, petrol eum ether, benzene, etc., but insoluble in water. Usage: Camphor was first used for insect prevention and corrosion prevention in the family. Due to the development of perfume industry, camphor is widely used. Camphor can be used as plasticizer for cellophane; In the manufacture of smokeless powder, high-purity natural camphor can be used as stabilizer; In medicine, it can be used as preservative and local stimulant. Camphor is the main raw material for producing bromocamphor and sodium camphor xanthate.

The synthetic camphor powder is a white powdery crystal with a special pungent and fragrant smell, which is easily soluble in ethanol; Organic solvents such as ether and chl oroform, slightly soluble in water. The specific gravity is 0.99, the pure product has a melting point of 179ºC, a boiling point of 209ºC, a flash point of 52ºC, an explosion limit of 0.6-3.5% and an autoignition point of 375ºC, which is easy to sublimate. The synthetic camphor is racemic and has no optical activity.
