3, 5-dihydroxypentylene(Olivetol) is an important pharmaceutical intermediate, which was first obtained by degrading lichen acid (also known as D-sonoic acid and pentyl butyric acid) extracted from lichen plants. It is mainly used in laboratory research and chemical production process. Also used for pain relief and anti-inflammatory.
