                       Lithium Orotate

Lithium whey acid is also known as vitamin B13. A white shiny acicular crystal or crystalline powder obtained from water, odorless and sour. Melting point 345 ~ 346ºC. Insoluble in cold water and ethanol, slightly soluble in hot water. Reaction with hydrogen peroxide and concentrated hydrochloric acid Chemicalbook to form 5-chloruracil-4-carboxylic acid. It can be obtained by condensation of diethyl oxalate and ethyl acetate into diethyl butyketoate, which is hydrolyzed by urea-cyclization. It is used medically to treat jaundice and general liver dysfunction
