ThioureaS dioxide is a substitute product of sodiu m hydrosulfite and an inorganic compound, which has the characteristics of strong reducibility, good thermal stability and convenient storage and transportation. The product can be used as reducing agent, bleaching and decoloring agent, plastic stabilizer, organic synthetic antioxidant and effective agent of photosensitive materials. It has been widely used in printing and dyeing, papermaking and other industries.
This product is a white powder crystal, which decomposes at 126ºC and its aqueous solution is weakly acidic.
The product is stable in acidic solution, but it is easy to decompose under alkaline conditions, resulting in highly reducing sulfinic acid, which makes the product have controllable reduction effect.
Compared with sodium hydr osulfite, this product has higher reduction potential, and the reduction potential is slow, only 1/5 of the reduction potential of sodium h ydrosulfite.
