Maleic.anhydride is an organic compound. The molecular formula is C4H2O3 and the molecular weight is 98.06. Colorless crystal with strong irritating smell, freezing point 52.8ºC, boiling point 202ºC, easy to sublime. It is mainly produced by oxidation of n-buta ne or butene in benzene or carbon four fractions. It is a raw material for the production of unsaturated polyester and organic synthesis.

Application

Application and Uses :

1.Used for the production of 1, 4-butanediol, γ -butanolactone, tetrahydr ofuran, succinic acid, unsaturated polyester resin, alkyd resin and other raw materials, but also used in medicine and pesticides.

2.Act as collector in metal dressing.
3.Used in organic synthesis and as an intermediate in synthetic fibers
4.Also used in the production of unsaturated polyester resin, ink additives, paper additives, coatings and pharmaceutical industry, food industry and so on.
