The chemical properties are relatively stable, and it is amphoteric (partially acidic), insoluble in water, fatty acids and weak inorganic acids.
When heated, it is soluble in h ydrofluoric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid.It can react with alkali metal carbonate to form titanate, and react with metal sodium to form sodium titanate. Titanium tetroxide is formed under the action of chlorinating agent, which can be reduced to metallic titanium by hydrogen under certain conditions.
