2. Used as raw materials for potassium salt production, such as potassi um permanganate and potassium carbonate.
3. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to produce potassi um borohydride, spironolactone, sal butamol, testo sterone propionate, progesterone, vanillin, etc.
4. It is used in the production of potassium soap, alkaline batteries and cosmetics (such as cold cream, vanishing cream and shampoo) in light industry.
5. In the dye industry, it is used to produce vat dyes, such as vat blue RSN.

Potassium hydr oxide, a common inorganic alkali, is a white powder or flaky solid with a melting point of 380ºC, a boiling point of 1324ºC and a relative density of 2.04 g/cm3. Its properties are similar to those of sodium hydro xide, and it is strongly alkaline and corrosive.
