Beta-carotene (C40H56) is one of the carotenoids, an orange-yellow fat-soluble compound, which is the most ubiquitous and stable natural pigment in nature. It is found in abundance in plants, giving fruits and vegetables their rich yellow and orange colors. [2] The appearance of the pure product is reddish purple to dark red crystalline powder, with a slight odor.
