CFS-973, H-examethyldisilazane is a trimethyl terminated silyl amine. It is an extremely strong silyl agent. It can be described as Bis(trimethylsilyl)amine and it's normally abbreviated as HMDS. CFS-973 is primarily used as a blocking agent, a surface modifier and a pharmaceutical intermediate for the manufacturer of various chemicals.

Applications
H-examethyldisilazane can be used as a blocking agent to protect sensitive functional groups. It is a reagent for the preparation of trimethylsilyl derivatives;
H-examethyldisilazane can be used as a versatile silylation agent and an intermediate for functional silicones and pharmaceutical synthesis;
H-examethyldisilazane can be used as a tackifier and adhesion promoter for photoresist;
H-examethyldisilazane can be used in GC-MS to enhance the detectability of compounds with polar functional groups;
H-examethyldisilazane can be used as surface modifier for inorganic fillers treatment. HMDS coatings on various micro and nanoparticles make them be resistant to water and flocculation.
