Ammonium/fluoride is an ionic compound. At room temperature, it is white or colorless transparent rhombic crystals with a slightly sour taste. Deliquescent, decomposed into ammon ia and hydrogenfluoride by heat or hot water. Dissolved in hot water, the aqueous solution is strongly acidic. It is neutralized by anhydrous hydrofluoricacid and liquid ammo nia.
